About us
Greenoak is one of 2,000 housing associations that work in the UK. Our main purpose is to provide affordable homes for people to rent. Many of our residents come to us from local authority registers of those who need housing, or are seeking supported retirement housing.
Greenoak is a not for profit Friendly Society with charitable rules. We are governed by a Board whose members serve entirely on a voluntary basis. We receive government funding and are regulated by the Housing Corporation. We are also affiliated to the National Housing Federation and have signed up to iN Business.
Environmental sustainability A winner of the Housing Corporation’s Gold Award for Environmental Sustainability in 2007, Greenoak is at the forefront of innovation with its Greenhomes model. With a design which provides popular light and airy houses, it also minimises the environmental impact of housing. Greenoak has published a project funded by the Housing Corporation about the lessons learned from the first two green homes developments. These inform future housing projects and helps other organisations achieve sustainability targets.
