iN is a national alliance of housing associations within the National Housing Federation.

What we are doing

For the last ten years we have had a programme of community projects. These are funded through grants from Greenoak Community Focus, one of our group members.

Grants are made each year to organisations, local to our housing schemes. These include helping to fund a Support Worker for the YMCA, providing cycle storage at a primary school, helping to fund Shopmobility and the Community Furniture project in Woking, the community therapy garden in a village near Guildford, Citizens Advice Service, Mediation services and a homeless project.

Greenoak works closely on projects with schools local to our housing schemes to encourage citizenship, health and safety. For the last five years we have provided two classes a year with resource materials on child safety. Other projects have included a competition to encourage ideas and a commitment to sustainability. A painting competition on designing a home for the future provided some exciting and challenging results, and a pumpkin competition was a fun way to encourage the growing of vegetables and healthy eating.
