Our merger  

Greenoak Housing Association was formed in July 2004 by the merger of Pinecroft and Second Achilles Housing Associations. This was the successful conclusion of a two year partnership which has resulted in a stronger, more efficient organisation.

In October 2001, Pinecroft entered into a Management Agreement with Second Achilles to manage the Association, its staff and affairs. During the partnership, we held regular progress meetings with members of both Associations.

In considering the future operations, the key objective was for the partner Associations to work in the most effective way, seeking to improve efficiency and spread risks.

After consultation with tenants of both associations, merger investigations commenced in September 2003. We are pleased to report that there were no objections to the proposals. With the approval of the Housing Corporation, the affairs of Second Achilles HA were transferred to Pinecroft on 1 July 2004. Following a competition amongst residents, staff and board members, the name Greenoak was selected as the new name for the merged organisation and this was registered by the FSA (Financial services Agency) in July 2004.
