This is a new appointment to start in the New Year. The role is to deliver sustainable service improvement though system development and business transformation.

About the job

The post-holder will assist the Executive Team in the following areas:

  • Performance management and monitoring, including internal audit
  • Business planning and forecasting
  • Risk management
  • Regulation compliance
  • Systems management and development
  • Evaluation of new business opportunities
  • Reporting to the Board

The successful candidate will have several years’ experience in the social housing sector and have experience of

  • working in a service delivery environment
  • handling of data, analysing and interpreting
  • understanding of data protection and GDPR
  • KPI and compliance reporting experience
  • regulation in the housing sector
  • IT systems and reporting
  • staff supervision and performance management

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Understanding of the regulatory environment and requirements
  • Understanding of housing, health and safety and data protection legislation
  • Competent at using IT systems and software incl spreadsheets, data bases.
  • Able to write clear and concise reports
  • Ability to present information clearly to a wide range of audiences
  • Have good people management skills
  • Have well developed negotiation skills and the ability to develop effective working relationships

Salary: c£40,000 + car allowance

Greenoak is a provider of affordable homes for people to rent or buy in Surrey and Sussex. We own and manage over 500 properties. Many of our residents come through local authority registers, or in the case of older people, where they are seeking supported retirement housing. We are also a developing association, aiming to increase the supply of affordable housing and deliver sustainable communities, and aspire to achieve high quality design and sustainable construction.

We are currently looking for a Housing Manager to deliver an effective and resident focused housing management service, and assist with providing a responsive repairs and maintenance service. This person will be managing a small freindly staff team.

About the job

  • Managing our tenant services team to provide an excellent service. The team is responsible for helping tenants sustaining their tenancies and allocating new homes according to priorities relating to personal needs and circumstances. This includes visiting applicants, liaising with local authorities and other referral agencies, signing up new tenants and providing tenancy support including settling in and follow up visits.
  • Preparing reports for the Board and Board Committees in accordance with targets. Maintain statistical and performance records as required
  • Assisting with preparing service charge budgets and rent setting with the Finance Director.
  • Managing staff to help maintain a low level of arrears, identifying those who need support and assistance referring to external agencies where appropriate.
  • Ensuring that tenant disputes and allegations of anti-social behaviour are promptly dealt with and resolved.
  • Ensuring the appearance of estates is maintained to the required standard, including gardening, cleaning and caretaking.
  • Assisting the Operations Director with providing an efficient and friendly service through our direct labour team.
  • Managing our services to older residents in need of support, supervising staff and support services.
